Reverend Tory\u00a0Pruner<\/h1>\n

Reverend Tory Pruner joined us at Cornerstone in December 2015. \u00a0Prior to this, she served as the Associate Pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Toms River for 27 years.\u00a0Her responsibilities included work with the finance, property, outreach, stewardship, Christian education commissions.\u00a0 She led the children\u2019s ministry and\u00a0 worked with the youth and adult ministries. Tory went on permanent disability in 2014 because of Lupus and ongoing back issues. During that time she came to Cornerstone as one of our guest preachers. Then she expressed interest in possibly serving as our pastor.\u00a0Tory shared with our pastor search committee, \u201cNow that I am on disability, I have discovered a stirring within my heart that the Lord is not done with me yet. I believe God has a place where I may faithfully serve him despite my limitations. My ability to only work part-time, my passion to see the church of Jesus Christ grow, and the Spirit\u2019s working on my heart all point to God\u2019s call in my life to pastor to the small church.\u201d \u00a0We believe that Tory is a perfect fit for this\u00a0 stage in the life of\u00a0 our congregation.<\/p>\n

Director of Music: Will Vanderburg<\/h1>\n

William L Vanderburg began playing piano at age five, while seated at the piano with his mother. Having taught himself to read music, he began working as church musician at age 12 and composing music at age 14.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He won an award during the 1986 North Carolina Young Composers Competition held at Appalachian State University and studied piano performance at Catawba College under Dr.\u2019s Legare McIntosh and Renee McCachern. Will has played in a variety of settings: orchestra, theatre, jazz band, community chorus, and country\/western as well as having performed at Walt Disney World. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Born in Salisbury, NC, he has lived in Jackson for 21 years.\u00a0\u00a0He is married to Paula and has a son, Justin.\u00a0\u00a0His step-daughter and grandchildren live in Florida.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Administrative Assistant: Debra\u00a0 Infante\"\"<\/a><\/h1>\n

Debra Infante has just joined our staff as our Administrative Assistant in September, 2024.\u00a0 She has had a lot of experiences working with people; from teaching 5th<\/sup> grade in Haw River, NC where a third of the population were recently from Mexico and just learning English, to working to get services for a \u00a0homeless population of over 7,000 people at the Homeless Leadership Board in Pinellas County, Florida, to delivering meals to elderly and disabled \u00a0people in rural areas for Meals on Wheels in Randolph, Vt. So many of these people have touched her heart and given her so much joy. She really missed the opportunity to serve and connect with people in her retirement, and God led her to Cornerstone!<\/p>\n

As our Administrative Assistant, she oversees all communication about our church with organizing and publishing our weekly bulletins, and weekly email updates as well our social media pages.\u00a0 Debra oversees the content and organization of our website and maintains a database of our members including their birthdays as well as information about their youth and children.\u00a0 Debra also helps to support our media opportunities on Sunday mornings and publishes special mailings, brochures, and other church communications.\u00a0 Debra has a heart for Christ and is an active member of our congregation. Her passion is our youth and Sunday School ministry, where she is involved in planning, teaching, and development.\u00a0 We are very blessed to have Debra on staff and know that she cares deeply about all her responsibilities in service to Christ and to help Cornerstone grow and be a light in the Jackson Community and beyond.<\/p>\n
