Childrens Ministry Schedule

Cornerstone Presbyterian Children’s Ministry & DeBows Wesley Club Calendar of Events, Winter/Spring 2014

Childrens’ Ministry: The DeBows Wesley Club and Cornerstone Children’s Ministry -   Meets on the Second and Fourth Thursday of the month, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm., unless otherwise noted.  It is for children in First Grade through Fifth Grade, but children in Kindergarten and Sixth Grade may participate.  Each month there will be a Missions theme with an associated craft or trip.

Winter and Spring lessons will be on the Psalms of the Bible and favorite New Testament Passages.  The Psalms are collected songs and poems that represent centuries worth of praises and prayers to God on a number of themes and circumstances.  The Psalms are impassioned, vivid and concrete; they are rich in images, similes and metaphor.

Thu. Jan. 9      Psalm 23.  “The Lord is my shepherd.  He leads me in paths of righteousness.  I will fear no evil.  I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Thu. Jan. 23    Psalm 138.  “I give you thanks, O Lord!  All the kings of the earth will praise you.  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.”  (We will make Valentines for those in trouble times as a mission project.)

Thu. Feb. 13    Psalm1.  “Blessed is the man who does not walk with the wicked, whose delight is in the law of the Lord.  He is like a tree planted by the water.”

Thu. Feb. 27    Psalm 46.  “God is our refuge.  We will not fear, though the earth give way.  The nations rage, kingdoms fall.  Be still and know that I am God.”

Thu. Mar. 13   Psalm 62.  “My soul waits for God alone.  He alone is my rock and my salvation.  Trust in him at all times, O people.  Power and love belong to God.”
