Sunday, February 10: Fast Food Frenzy & Discussion of Heroes What is it? It’s A Progressive fast-food meal where items get purchased for lunch, a side, and desert at various fast food restaurants. Discussion at each restaurant will focus on: What Makes a Hero? What makes a hero? How can we separate fictitious heroes from real heroes? As Christians, how can we know that–if called to act–we’ll act heroically?
Friday, February 15 4:30 PM – Saturday, February 16 – 4 Nightwatch Crossroads at St. John the Divine
Nightwatch Crossroads is a Friday evening and overnight spiritual and faith exploration for middle and high school youth groups and their adult chaperones. Discussions will be on issues of religion, philosophy and justice.
What will happen? Basketball/Volleyball, ice-breaker games, Workshops in art (music & theater skits), Discussions, Snacks/Breakfast, Candlelight Meditation/Agape Feast, Cathedral Tour
Cost: $85.00 per person plus money for food on the way up.
Sunday, March 24: Parent/Youth Video Game Discussion and Competition Xbox Ethics Is It All Just a Game? Video games continue to develop and offer an expanding array of options. One can be entertained for hours alone or with friends. What is the purpose of playing games? How should Christians make decisions about what games to play or avoid? Can violent video games create violent people? Are there limits to what we should play?
Friday, April 19 – Saturday, April 20: Group Work Day in the Bronx with overnight at the Reformed Church in Bronxville You can join us April 20th as we come together to beautify a section of The Bronx. By painting a school, cleaning up a park, sprucing up a city block…it’s your chance to get youth involved in serving the community we all share. Let’s team up and pour out into this awesome community! A variety of projects will be available at different levels of expertise, therefore NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
Adults invited and all Youth Grade 6 and above….
